BUEI commemorated their 25th anniversary in 2022. Their job for the past 25 years, has been to combine learning and doing so the ocean around Bermuda is understood, loved and protected.

The Bermuda Sandcastle competition is held on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend holiday every year. Founded by Niki Garrett in 1995, it continues to be one of the islands favorite public events. The competition is Free to enter, and early sign up is recommended. We also provide workshops throughout the year. In these tutorials, participants learn how to create masterpieces in sand, from past champions. No experience or artistic ability is required for these workshops.
